As for the article, Radio Shack is to 12 yo Tommy, what Costco is to XY yo Tc. Not sure what it says about me but I loved RS way back in the day.
I’m guessing that if you had a car phone in 1989 you used it exclusively to calm people and say “guess where I am!”

Know what I did for fun with my father? Counted dirty bottles that had been returned to the grocery store by dirty people, and chopped lettuce. It was wonderful. Oh, and Radio Shack.
